I have been trying to work a guitar player into the band for this performance for the last month or so and the guy looked promising at first but he showed pretty much no enthusiasm
If you have been reading my blogs lately, then you know I have been re-cutting all of the loops and sample for the live show
This is because I had made my decision to let him go but I could not tell him in person until yesterday
Luckily, he was of the same opinion and we parted ways amicably

I just finished all of the backing loops for the live show
All I need now is for Marko to put the adjustment on the levels and the EQ so that the PA will need the least abount of adjustment
My deaf ass is terrible at mixing, plus, what I like in a mix doesn’t always produce the best result out front

As the GZ gig gets closer and closer, I am starting to see the good parts of my work ethic take over
Please allow me this rare self congratulatory moment but I must lay this stuff out and accept my accomplishments as much as I beat myself up for my failings

-I have handed out over 1000 flyers for this show (a vast majority of them whilst looking them in the eye)
Traditional music business math states that 10% of the people you flyer will show up

I have been communicating with a guitarist who is interested in PyroPlasticFlow
We have had several conversations and he brought over equipment last night to start learning the parts
The most encouraging thing was that he picked up the guitar parts very quickly
This is one of my central issues with finding a person to play my music

The music is deceptively difficult in that more is going on with the subtleties of the rhythms than the actual melody that most people don’t play it well
Obviously, not to compare myself to Jimi Hendrix, but it is like being in a guitar store and hearing a person who has accomplished technical prowess but plays something like “Purple Haze” and it doesn’t sound anywhere as good as Henrix

I re-engineered the electronic kit by adding a longer rack tube and re-positioning the bass drum pad so it does not move
I also decided to use the spikes as crash/chyna and moved the SPDS around a little bit to compensate for the pad that triggers poorly
The kit proved to be very compact with out the acoustic snare, so I added it too
I did not use a backpack last time , so I may be able to make room by putting small objects on my back
There also needs to be a re-thinking of the way I tie the speaker to the rack
It was all falling off every 30 seconds and irritating the shit out of me

I have loaded some noise stuff onto the Zune and plan to use it during the performance tomorrow
Hopefully it will not rain
There is a concert on Peavey Plaza and hopefully, I can get as close as possible to ...
